How to download TORRENT on an Android smartphone

We all love our android devices. We know that we can do most of the things which can be done on  a  PC . Remember the days when we used to leave our PCs turn on whole nights just to download a torrent file. Now this thing can be done on your Android.

Following are the steps which will guide you -

1.Just grab a torrent client from Playstore of your choice-

I would personally recommend Flud - Torrent Downloader because it has less ads than any of the torrent client. It shows Download and Upload speed in real time in system notification tray. They don’t have any restrictions for free versions like speed limits or power management options . Setting and design is just cleanest among all. Its a personal choice , you are free to use anyone.
I'm using “Flud - Torrent Downloader” for this tutorial.

flud

2.Now just open the app and Tap three dots on top right. Select settings. If you wish to change storage path  you can select “Storage ” as we use external memory cards to store our data now days.
You can find setting like Wi-Fi only if you uses Wi-Fi connection. You can find this option in   “Power Management”. I would like to suggest you to tick “Keep CPU awake” option. This option will keep this app in memory after screen lock. Usually CPU runs on low frequency when screen is locked, and your download speed might get affected . Now you can leave the app.

flud

3.Open your internet browser. Just search the file you want. You can search your torrent files in websites like Kickass- https://kat.cr/ , Thepiratebay- https://thepiratebay.gd/ , Torrentz.in-  https://torrentz.in/  . You can simply search your files by adding a “torrent” keyword with their names for example – Ubuntu Torrent, VLC Torrent etc.
Now depending on the website just try to find torrent file download link or the magnet link. If you click magnet links your torrent client will be called. If you download torrent file just open it. Again your client will be loaded. Just check/uncheck files you need. Enjoy torrents.

Note –

  • Always try to download a file having high seeds.
  • Please avoid downloading files illegally. You might get into trouble if you download them.( Copyright issues)
  • Beware of scams or viruses.
  • You can use paid version of above clients which will give you extra features like Ad-Free environment .

How to save battery on non rooted android phone using GREENIFY

Today we will learn how to save Battery and RAM usage on a Non-Rooted phone.

We will the use “Greenify” App by the Oasis Feng for increasing efficiency. Greenify can run on  a Non-Rooted , Rooted and Rooted phone having Xposed Framework. It saves battery and RAM with force closing apps after you leave them. Force closing is called “Hibernating” It can also automatically force close any app running even if you forget to close them manually .

Most of us think that as soon as we leave an app or we swipe it from the recent apps it releases memory, but we are wrong at this point. Most of apps (better to say all apps) run in memory in order to  receive all feeds and background updates. To be very honest we don't need a game notifcations regarding their all available offers all the time. So we can save huge amount of Battery and RAM by using Greenify.

1.To install “Greenify”,here is the Playstore link.

greenify

The device I'm using here is Motorola Moto G 2nd Gen XT1068 running on Lollipop 5.0.2.

After installing,open the app.

2.Click the “+” icon located  at the top right

greenify

3.Click on “Show More apps and start” selecting all the apps you want. Please try to select as many apps you can. I would like to suggest to select Facebook,Facebook Messanger,Whatsapp,Hike,We Chat. They eat your battery and RAM like anything. Also keep in mind after going into hibernation mode these apps will not be refreshed and you might loose an important message. But at the end you are gonna save a decent amount of Battery and RAM.
After selecting these apps just click “Tick”.

greenify

4.Now click three dots and select Experimental features.
Please select working mode = Non-Root. Now make sure your phone does not uses any pattern lock or PIN.It is imoportant for automatic hibernation. But you can leave this. You can use widgets/shortcuts in home screen or pull up gesture on home soft key. Just select “Hibernate+Lock Screen” and select always.

greenify

greenify

5.Now click on “Automated hibernation”. It will prompt you to grant Accessibility. Just tap on Greenify and select ON.

greenify

Again click on “Automated hibernation” , this time it will prompt you to activate device administrator. Select activate.

greenify

Now click third and last time on “Automated hibernation” . This time a green tick will appear in front of it. If it doesn't appear please check that you don't have a PIN or Pattern lock ,  Accessibility and Device Administrator is granted.

6.Now just come to the Greenify's home and click on three dots. Now select “Create hibernation shortcut”. Select “Hibernate Now”.Repeat this one more time and select “Hibernate+Lock Screen”.

greenify

Now you are done with your side.
Leave all the work for Greenify.

You can use a donation package of this app which will help to choose and hibernate the Systems and Google apps. I will suggest you not to mess with these apps if you are planning to use donation pack, some System and Google apps needs to be run in memory all the time.

Xiaomi Redmi 2 Review

Here is a breif review of xiaomi redmi 2 after 2 months of usage:

  • LOOKS:

Looks are awesome for a 6k phone.Build quality is good.Round edges improves its looks.Back cover has matte finish,It will not attract dust or finger prints.

So for looks 9/10.

  • DISPLAY:

4.7 inch display, perfect for daily use.It has fully laminated (gapless) display(pixel appears more closer to screen) with drangontail glass which is said to be scratch resistant. No scratches till now.Under direct sunlight display is decent.

So for display 9/10.

  • CAMERA:

Rear camera is probably the best in 6k range.Nice Ui in default camera app.Zero shutter lag(though in HDR mode it lags a bit).
Front camera is average with some exciting features such as age detection and face beauty.

For camera : 10/10.

  • SOFTWARE PART:

UI is excellent(though stock fans may not like it).Everything can be coustomised easily.Supports theme from mi store.Has built in security apps such as permission manager and antivirus so you dont have to install them from market.

RAM management is below average.Only around 300 mb is available after booting.Miui takes a lot of  ram so better go for 2gb model.Though it doesn't lags during normal usage but if there are 4-5 apps running in background and you press home button it will take a couple of seconds to load home screen. You can't expect better multitasking at 1gb Ram.Some preinstalled apps are eye catching.Nice Ui animations. You will get minor or major OTA updates frequently.Gameplay is smooth.

Now i will come to a major problem. It has severe heating issues. It will heat like anything after normal usage like internet surfing or calling for only 15 mins.

But after the recent update the problem has been fixed. Now no such heating issues are there.

Internal mermory is 8gb out of which 5.2 gb is available.Apps can't be moved to sd card so heavy game users better go for 16 gb model.

So for software part 7/10.

  • BATTERY:

Battery life is average. On Continuous usage it will last for 5-6 hours.Moderate usage will take you through a day.

So for battery life : 8/10

So overall i will give a score of 8/10.

People who are looking for a good camera phone at this range can go for it.

I will definately recommend it to anyone who is looking for a 6k Phone.

you can buy it from here:

How to change BOOT ANIMATION of your Android device

Feeling bored with stock bootanimation?
Why bother it if you can change it and
choose from tons of cool bootanimations

Bootanimation is nothing but a series of .png images of certain resolution present in a .zip file which are played when your device boots. To change boot animation your device must be rooted because we have to change some system level files.

To know how to root your device click here.

Changing boot animation can result in a boot loop if the boot animation is corrupted,
So it is recommended to create a nandroid backup before doing anything to system files.

To know more about nandroid backup click here.

Changing boot animation is not a difficult task and can be done by following few simple steps. You can change boot animation manually or with the help of some apps available on play store.

To change boot animation manually you have to download a boot animation of your screen resolution. You will find tons of bootanimation over internet.
After downloading the bootanimation rename it to bootanimation.zip.

Now using root file explorer like es file explorer navigate to system/media.There you will find a file named bootanimation.zip , rename it to bootanimation.zip.bak and now paste the downloaded bootanimation to this directory.

In most of the android smartphones bootanimation is present in system/media.Use this method only if the bootanimation is present in system/media.

Reboot your phone and you will see the new boot animation.

Above method is time taking and chances of error are more so it is recommended to use an app 'boot box' which is available on play store for free. You can choose from tons of boot animation available in the app.You have to follow simple instruction in app to change bootanimation.

You can download boot box from this play store link.

I will like to repeat that creating a nandroid backup is must before changing boot animation so that you can restore it if something went wrong and your devices enters a boot loop.

Rooted your smartphone?

You must have heard about nandroid backup by now.In this post i will try to explain what is a nandroid backup, its importance and how to make one.

NANDROID BACKUP:

Nandroid backup is nothing but the backup of your whole operating system.It includes your apps,data of apps,call logs,messages,contacts...and everything that is present in your device.It means whenever you restore that backup you will be back to phone's previous state when the backup was created.

IMPORTANCE OF A NANDROID BACKUP:

Nandroid backup is like sanjeevni booti (life saving) { i can't find a better word to describe importance of nandroid backup} to your android device. It will be your last hope if you have done something wrong with your device.you can restore it any time if something went wrong.Again i would like to repeat its "life saving" for your android device.

HOW TO MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP OF YOUR ANDROID DEVICE:

There are two ways to create a NANDROID backup of your android device.
First we will talk about the easy one.

online nandroid

Size of backup will be Around 1.5 To 2 gb.so make sure you have sufficient space in your sd card.

NOW BEFORE COMING TO SECOND METHOD YOU MUST HAVE FLASHED CWM OR CTR RECOVERY.

TO KNOW HOW TO FLASH  CUSTOM RECOVERY CLICK HOW TO FLASH RECOVERY WITHOUT USING PC.

1.REBOOT TO RECOVERY.

2.CHOOSE BACKUP AND RESTORE.

CWM Recovery

3.THEN CLICK ON BACKUP TO SD CARD OR INTERNAL MEMORY WHEREVER YOU WANT SAVE IT(SD CARD RECOMMENDED).

4.IT WILL TAKE AROUND 15-20 MINUTES AND THE BACKUP WILL BE COMPLETED.

MAKE SURE THE BATTERY IS CHARGED ENOUGH(70-100%).

In both cases backup will be saved on clockworkMod folder created in your sd card.

MUST DO things after rooting your android device

Rooted your android smartphone and wondering what's next?
Here are some must do things after rooting your android smartphone which will rescue you if you accidentally do something wrong.

1.FLASH A CUSTOM RECOVERY LIKE CWM,TWRP,COT OR CTR

Your android device is powered by a stock recovery which you can access by turning off your phone and then pressing
POWER+VOLUME DOWN for a few seconds(in most of the devices) if this method fails just google how you can go to recovery in your device.
You will see options like formatting, backup data, etc in recovery menu.
Though this recovery might be sufficient for a non rooted smartphone but for a rooted device you must flash a custom recovery because it can do more advance tasks like creating a full nandroid backup, which you can restore when you accidentally 'brick' your device. You can flash new ROMs using custom recovery, partition sd card and much more.

To know how to flash custom recoveries without using PC click here.

2.CREATE A FULL NANDROID BACKUP USING CWM RECOVERY

This is the most important thing to do after rooting your android smartphone.
You must make a nandroid backup using custom recovery like CWM after rooting because it not only includes backup of your data but the backup of operating system(OS) itself. So if you do something wrong and stuck on a boot loop you can restore your backup any time to return to your phone's previous state with ease.
So you can minimise the risk of bricking your device.

3.MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR IMEI NUMBER

A lot of people forget about making a backup of their IMEI number after rooting which can lead them to trouble.IMEI number of any device is very important as without it your device will not recognize any sim.You will be unable to make any call or use data services.
If you are using a device powered by mediatek processor you can make a backup of youf IMEI number by using an app named Mobileuncle MTK tools. To download from playstore Click here.

mobileuncle tools

Then click on backup IMEI

mobileuncle tools

Done.
Backing up IMEI is important because sometimes after flashing new ROM IMEI number is erased. So with the help of this you can restore it any time.

What is rooting?

When we hear about rooting the first question that comes in our mind is "what is rooting?"

IN THIS POST I WILL TRY TO EXPLAIN IN SIMPLEST WAY WHAT ROOTING ACTUALLY IS

superuser

Rooting is a process of allowing a user to attain privileged control within android's sub system.
In simple words a user gets access to system level files after rooting.

You must have seen that in your android device you are unable to uninstall some pre installed apps that comes with the device because you don't have access to system files.Manufacturer doesn't allows you remove those applications.
But after rooting you are in full control of your device and You can coustomise it your own way.
